Hydroponic- Soil less growing technology
Plants do not require soil to grow anymore. Hydroponic is a way of growing crops without soil, in a controlled environment. The roots of the plant are supported on a selected materials and plants are grown directly from water full of nutrients. At Agrilys, we implement great strategies to produce top quality vegetables and a sustainable environment.
Sustainability
At Agrilys, we are conscious about our impact on the environment. As a reason we adopted sustainable practices, including:
Water Recirculation: To reduce out environmental footprint, all our fertigation (fertilized irrigation) water stays in a closed loop system. With the use of pasteurization technology, we treat the used nutrient water, which is then mixed with fresh water and nutrients before re-introduced to the plants.
Measure, Monitor & Manage
It is a fact that hydroponic framing is an intensive process. Despite the crops are grown in water, yet they require specific attention to grow at the optimal level. At Agrilys, we have been keeping pace and implemented the best system in our farm. AI being something gaining ground in the field of technology, has been the reason for us to invest in the MeerKat System.
This system has been specifically designed for hydroponic systems, where our technicians can monitor and control the process from the oboard controller, accessible from a laptop or even a smartphone. In a nutshell, the computerised MeerKat system measures, monitors, alarms where needed, controls and manages the whole process while the plant grows.
